Since it takes at least two to Tango when it comes to proposed legislation becoming law in the great State of Florida, I thought it might prove useful to maintain a daily tracker of both SB 1714 and HB 1329 between now and the end of the current session of Floridas legislature on May 2nd, 2014. Anyone wishing to contribute factual updates regarding these pieces of legislation (and/or Rick Scotts position on this legislation when and if reported by a credible media outlet), please feel free to do so. Lets try to keep speculation to a minimum here as there are plenty of opportunities to speculate in existing and/or newly-created threads. Cheers! - Eric *Brief explanation of the process by which bills are introduced, considered, voted upon and become law - The Florida Legislature meets every year to consider new laws. The annual session for 2014 began on March 4, 2014 and continues through May 2, 2014. All bills must be approved by both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate before going to the governor to either be vetoed or signed and become law. Because it is a lengthy process, many bills which might otherwise be approved, fail to achieve a final vote before the legislative session ends and thus never become law. ... and, of course, there is always the far more entertaining version...
