Since its humble beginnings since 1903, to its modern preeminence in the world, aviation has without a doubt become possibly the most innovative and reliable industry in not just the US, but the entire world. It is such that no one can master it, because it is always innovating, and its history always expands. Every design has been revolutionary, and has in someway, shape, or form impacted the society we live in today. I chose to enter aviation, due to its many promises and benefits. Have you ever been at the control of an aircraft before? To feel it rolling down the runway, bound for flight. As you grip its yoke, feeling as if youre one with the airplane. As if it needs you, as much as you need it. And when you feel the landing gear leave that runway, the sense of freedom you feel is one which not even the worlds best poet can describe. As youre soaring into the unknown, seeing the world you love grow smaller and the clouds grow bigger. As it seems every horizon can easily be reached, and all dreams can become reality. People view the pilot profession as glorified taxi drivers. We are far more than just overpaid individuals, we are essentially the elites. We take the lives of over 200 people in our hands for a living, and fly them in some multi-million dollar aluminum tube. We most certainly dont do it for the money, but we do it for the experience. The experience is amazing, and the lessons learnt are priceless. Flight can never be mastered, but it can be innovated. And that is what we pilots are for.
