Since most tourists come to NOLA with the intention of visiting the French Quarter, including Bourbon Street, and considering the frequent assaults on locals and visitors alike by the gang members and just plain thugs in the Quarter (not my personal opinion, but actual news reports), it throws common sense out the window that NOLA is still considered a major tourist destination. I guess vacationers dont do their research before setting their travel plans. Todays NOLA has nothing to offer as far as Im concerned except the chance to endanger your (and your familys) safety. Its a shame really, because prior to the thug mentality that has abounded in the city for some time now, NOLA was a fabulous place to not only visit, but in which to reside. Sue
