Since reading An Ordinary Man I realised that I had basically forgotten already about the Genocide in Rwanda despite it being (one of) the most dreadful atrocities in very recent history. (1994) The Rwandan genocide occurred because racial hatred induced by the government was spread across Rwanda through the media, causing mass hysteria and unthinkable acts of murder and torture between neighbours and friends. I think that we are in a fragile state in some regards here in England, and therefore there must be lessons to learn from remembering Rwanda. This is a testimony from a survivor of the Rwandan genocide of 1994. It is harrowing, but I think important viewing. Do watch if you can. There are many more. youtube/watch?v=4GrtDYqfGmM
