Since several members of my kith and kin have recently done a great feat I shall now add myself to the bandwagon: 1. I was born 36 years, 11 months, 30 days, 21 hours, and 38 minutes after the WWI Armistice went into effect. 2. I was born at St. Jpsephs Hospital in San Francisco, CA. The hospital was located a few blocks away from the Haight-Ashbury. Alfred Hitchcock used the hospital in scenes from his movie film, Vertigo starring James Stewart and Kim Novak in 1958. The hospital is now a condominium complex. 3. I weighed 7lbs., 7oz. when I was born on the 11th month and 11th day of the year. 4. I am the oldest son of the only son of the oldest son of the oldest son. Save for my dad I am descended from the 1st born. Stemming from my great great grandfather I am 11121. 5. I am descended from a family of ministers, mostly Assembly of God on both sides of my family. Both of my grandfathers (Leonard Palmer and Joe Lassegues) were A of G ministers. I have great uncles, cousins, grandmothers, and step grandmothers who were ministers as well. My great grandparents, Jesse and Hattie Palmer were among the original families to join the A of G in 1914. Dr. C.M. Ward of Revivaltime and Bethany was my great uncle. Margaret Bond, a great aunt was a widow of an A of G minister (Earl Bond). My great uncle Robert Palmer is an A of G minister. Max Johnson and Emil Lassegues were great uncles as well. Paul Palmer is my 2nd cousin. So is Ricky and Phyllis Comstock. Larry Booze is a 3rd cousin. 6. I am a 2nd cousin of the late Helen Chenoweth (R-Idaho). I am a 7th cousin of William McKinley. I am an 8th cousin of Cordell Hull. My 4 greats uncle was William Gray Rose. I am descended from the Normans, Plantagenets, and Stewarts. I am also descended from MacDuff of MacBeth fame. 7. I worked for the California State DMV for 21 years (1984 -2005). I retired as an examiner. I helped pass daughters and sons of various celebrities and politicians in their written and road tests. Later I drove several celebrities as a limousine chauffeur as well. I also escorted a few as a wheelchair operator at SFO too. 8. I was born on Veterans Day. My sister, Susan Palmer Marshall was born on the 4th of July. My brother, Dean Palmer was born on the 1st day of spring. One of my daughters was born on April Fools Day. Another was born on Loma Prieta Day. Another is on Christmas Eve. 2 daughters, a sister in law, a brother in law, and an aunt sometimes have birthdays on Mothers Day. My wife, Kathys birthday is on the day Gold was discovered in California. My sister in law was born on Canadian Independence Day. My brother in law was born on Admission Day. My dad was born on Martin Van Buren, Walt Disney, and Strom Thurmonds birthday. 9. I am married and have 6 daughters (Vannessa, Megan, Melissa, Cassandra, Rebecca, and Brianna). I also have 2 granddaughters (Holley and Kendall Cueba). 10. The words of one of my songs, Ode To A Broken Heart won the National Poetry Contests Editors Choice Award back in 1994. It has been published in A Far Off Place and has been recorded. It also made it into the semi-finals in other contests and was published in their publications as well. I recorded it with the beautiful tune on facebook last year. 11. I like classical, inspirational, gospel, southern gospel, and big band swing music. Howard Hanson was my favorite 20th century composer over all. 12. I love American and British history since I have so many famous family connections. I am into genealogy and as a bi-product I have amassed a vast arsenal of volumes of American and British history. 13. I was the inspiration for the character, Richard in James Herndons book, How To Survive In Your Native Land. James Herndon was my junior high school teacher at Benjamin Franklin Junior High School in Colma, CA. I am the featured presence in The Price of Amphibians. I regard my 7th grade year as the worst year in school I experienced. I believe his book is still in print. 14. I know the city of San Francisco backward and forward due to my study of the transit systems through the years, a history of San Francisco course at Westmoor High, and my years as a bicycle messenger, courier, chauffeur, and taxi driver. 15. Between my siblings and I, I am the only one who completed a college degree. I graduated from Simpson College with a BA in Music in 1982. I recently graduated from Heald College with a certificate in Office Skills. 16. I used to tense up the nerves in my eyes and was able to rapidly wiggle them freaking out everyone who saw my feat. 17. The 1st car I ever owned was a green and white 1956 Studebaker President. I also owned a pink and white 1957 Pontiac that was once owned by the late Jim McVeigh. I once owned a rare edition 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk as well. 18.I am blessed with a retentive encyclopedic memory. I inherited an extreme version of it from my forefathers. I also am blessed with absolute pitch as well. 19. I play the piano, organ, and have played the clarinet, saxaphone, autoharp, brass, and strings through the years. I am a baritone soloist as well. 20. I am a conservative republican, evangelical, pentecostal Christian currently attending a Baptist Church in Daly City, CA. I play the piano and sing there too.
