Since the Coolidge Bears played in far, far away Chino Valley tonight, I got an invite and attended the Florence Gophers centennial season homecoming game. It was a great FFA BBQ to start the evening, and then the helicopter drop off of the mascot prior to the game. You know, like Coolidge was supposed to have at the start of our homecoming game. Florence pulled it off successfully. Florence jumped out to a 19-0 halftime lead and went on to win 33-8. Halftime was similar to Coolidge, except that they had a field mike and classes 64,74, 84, 94, and 2004 were introduced individually as they came before the crowd. That was nice. We CAN do that next year In Coolidge, cant we? The Florence crowd was great. They didnt even boo me when I was introduced as the Coolidge Mayor. Love that town. See you again in two weeks when the Bears travel to Florence for the final regular season game. On Halloween night.
