Since the Iranians blocked all broadcasting of yesterdays friendly, and since I was there spiritually. Ill give you a quick rundown. 12.00 pm match start. 12.05 pm...Iranian morality police are still scouring the stadium looking for anybody who look like they could dance,looking for sinful rhythm sections and runway Trinidad public servants. ( They found twelve,but later released them when they found out that they were all forgetful anyway) 12. 15 pm......a Brazilian soldier who was just intently watching the match, fell asleep. 12.42 pm......the warriors look increasingly uncomfortable with the 0/0 score line, but were then full of relief when the Iranians finally broke the deadlock within minutes of half time. 12.43 pm.... As the ball hit the back of the net ,coach Stephen Hart in anguish screamed Shite! The Iranian physio smiled and said Yes we are Shiite down to the last man and then went on to relate how the Shah wasnt a believer. 12.46 ...half time. Three men were seen trying to enter the stadium telling security that two of them were Trini physios and one was a goalie coach. They were allowed in simply because both the Iranian morality police and the Brazilian soldiers thought that their stories were so far out that they owed the three something in return for making them laugh so hard on a boring day. 1.06 pm. Penalty. Saved by goalie. With that save, some team members were visibly upset so they conspired to make sure that the Iranians get the the goal back. So in less than five minutes they succeeded . 1.25 pm,coach Hart lost all heart ,and just before I left the stadium in disgust,he ( Hart ) made the biggest move of his coaching career. He took off Jones and put on the erratic but consistent striker.....Watson Duke.
