Since the attack in France by Islamist Terrorists; I have seen several posts about how we should support France, because they helped us defeat the British during the American Revolutionary War. Allow me to educate you on our history with France. While yes, the French did help defeat the British, we have paid them back two fold. We had liberated the French from Germany occupation in World War I and World War II. We had answered the call to assist them in the Vietnam Conflict, which they were responsible for; but when the Viet Cong attacked an American Forward Operation Base (FOB) and we Americanized the war, the French tucked tail and left. They left us holding the bag. When we asked for them to join us in the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters; they told us no, that it wasnt their fight. Now, that being said...France is still our ally and I believe we as Americans should stand by our allies against our mutual enemies, in this case Islamic Terrorists. We do not owe them anything. If anything, they owe us. So stop bringing up the American Revolutionary War, weve already paid that tab.
