Since the dawn of modern times mankind has dreamed of traveling to the stars. We have traveled there in books and movies. Science fiction stories have been written about life in space, numerous novels have detailed human expansion into the cosmos where we colonize the stars and even engage in star wars. Technical papers have detailed how we might build Starships to travel to near-by star systems. However, these Starships are usually considered to be generational vessels that need to support a colony of people for several generations. This book will detail the design of a much smaller and faster Starship based on existing or very near term technology to move the human race outward to become a true space faring civilization. We will utilize the energy within our own star system to accelerate mankind on this first journey into deep space to touch the soil of a planet spinning around a star that is not our own.
