Since the mid-1960s, American companies began slicing their supply chains in search of low cost suppliers abroad. This process of global outsourcing initially focused on simple assembly of parts of American companies. It was this process of global sourcing which originated CVG ( “comércio de valor adicionado” ). Since the early 2000s, the concept of CVG has gained popularity as a way to analyze the international expansion and geographical fragmentation of supply chains and create contemporary value. As of 2009, exports of intermediate goods exceeds the combined value of exports of final goods and capital, representing 51% of exports of goods, excluding fuels . It is, therefore, a system of value-added trade or, as some of task trade ( trade in tasks ). THOMPSON ALVES dE SOUZA, Carlos Eduardo.
