Since the privatization of prisons became prevalent the Bureau of Justice Statistics has made it harder and harder to decipher recidivism rates. At the same time the same corporations are pushing their way into operating halfway houses and rehab programs for those released from prison. Where are the budget hawks and investigation commissions on this issue? They dont see a conflict of interest or a problem with the system in place. #voteother
