Since there are a lot of people who are new to this page I think Im going to reintroduce myself. My name is Eli. I wasnt always a patriot, I know it sounds shocking but its true. Up until 2011 I really didnt care about that sort of stuff. Then in 2011 I was diagnosed with dysgraphia. Its a learning disability that makes handwriting incredibly difficult and spelling stuff almost impossible. ( I use a speech software to write stuff on my page). I all of a sudden had to deal with the fact that life was going to be a lot harder for me than most people. I had lived my entire life up until that point thinking I was normal and all of a sudden I wasnt. I didnt know how to cope with the news and I started struggling with depression. Ive always struggled with not having very many friends, which is fine for some people but Im a social person and I need to have friends. So being diagnosed with dysgraphia on top of all the other stuff that was going on in my life started to take its toll. In 2012 I started having suicidal thoughts. It took me nine months before I realized I couldnt fight my demons by myself,so I started to see a counselor. That helped a lot but the biggest thing that helped me was becoming a patriot. I dont remember when last year but at some point I saw a Vietnam veteran and I decide to walk up to him and say thank you for your service and welcome home. Just saying those simple words made him so happy and I realized that they were not just simple words. I started to show support for those who have served and those who are serving now. I started to become more and more patriotic, and I noticed that the more patriotic I became the better my life became. But my biggest problem was that I didnt have anyone to share my patriotism with, so I made this page. Through this page I have met the most amazing people and I met a lot of people that were willing to help me defeat my demons. Ive been free of suicidal thoughts for three months and I spend a lot of my days really happy. So yeah thats me in a nutshell. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
