Since this is a page about authentic thought and thinking, i thought i woul share some of the some authors I read as a teenager, and later that had a good bit of influence on my imagination and creativity. This list is from an email I wrote to my 15 yr old daughter who loves science fiction. Real Science Fiction - not the horror or vampire or some other excuse for the real thing. I read, re-read and now some still reading! Hope you like these, Reading up on each author will provide you with a little background on each 1 hence the links to their biographies on Wikipedia.org Frank Herbert - Dune series en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Herbert Franklin Patrick Herbert, Jr. (October 8, 1920 – February 11, 1986)[4] was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful American science fiction author. Though also a short story author, he is best known for his novels,[5] most notably Dune and its fivesequels. The Dune saga, set in the distant future and taking place over millennia, deals with themes such as human survival and evolution, ecology, and the intersection of religion, politics and power. Dune itself is the "best-selling science fiction novel of all time," and the series is widely considered to be among the classics in the genre.[6][7] Isaac Asimov - Foudation Series, Three Laws of Robotics en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Asimov Robert Heinlein - Stranger in a Strange land, The Red Planet, Time Enough For Love, To Sail Beyond the Sunset en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_A._Heinlein Ray Bradbury - Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Bradbury Herman Hesse - Magister Ludi (The Glass Bead Game), Siddhartha, the Steppenwolf en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermann_Hesse David Wingrove - Chung Kuo (8 novels) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Wingrove Spiritual / philosophy Pierre Tielhard de Chardin (Jesuit Priest, paleontologist, geologist, scientist, philosopher, theologian) - The Heart of the Matter, The Phenomenon of Man, The Divine Milleu en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tielhard_de_chardin Alduos Huxley - Brave New World, The Perennial Philosophy, the Doors of Perception, friends with J. Hiley, London: Routledge, ISBN 0-415-12185-X (final work) FRS[1] (20 December 1917 – 27 October 1992) was an Americantheoretical physicist who contributed innovative and unorthodox ideas to quantum theory, philosophy of mind, and neuropsychology. He is widely considered to be one of the most significant theoretical physicists of the 20th century.[2] In physics, Bohm advanced the view that the old Cartesian model of reality was limited, in the light of developments in quantum physics. He developed in detail a mathematical and physical theory of implicate and explicate order to complement it.[3] Bohm warned of the dangers of rampant reason and technology, advocating instead the need for genuine supportive dialogue which he claimed could broaden and unify conflicting and troublesome divisions in the social world. In this his epistemology mirrored hisontological viewpoint.[4] He believed that the working of the brain, at the cellular level, obeyed the mathematics of some quantum effects. Therefore he postulated that thought was distributed and non-localised in the way that quantum entities do not readily fit into our conventional model of space and time.[5] Sister ilia Deelio - The Emergent Christ - recommended to me by Fr.
