“Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.” (Heb 12:1) Living Bible Weights will hinder us! Weights will hold us back! Weights will prevent us from moving forward in the things of God! The weights that we carry, can destroy our families and our relationships! Weights will stunt our spiritual growth and keep us in a spiritually immature state, that we find we are NOT growing in God at all! Weights will hinder our relationship with God, that we will not draw closer to Him in an intimate relationship! The weights we carry, will cause us to lean towards the flesh, that we find ourselves following after the flesh and its desires, instead of following the leading of Holy Spirit and pleasing God! Weight will hinder our praise and our worship! The weights we carry will cause us not to trust people and NOT even GOD! Weights will hinder our prayer lives, that we will find ourselves only to going to God when we need something! Weights will cause us to care for the things of this world instead of the things of God! Weights will rob us of our peace! Our joy! Our happiness and our rest! Every weight is not listed in this picture, so...its important that we begin to identify any weights that could slow us down and hinder us on our Christian journey!
