Since you dont take into account the possibility for the Trinity to be above us all, above humanity, above nature, above everything created in this world (time, the seen world, the unseen world), it means youre not ready yet to accept Orthodoxy. Because accepting Orthodoxy means accepting an all-powerful Entity, one in being, but three in persons or faces, called Holy Trinity, these three persons united in love, but different in their actions: the Father, who created and creates everything, the Son, who was born of the Father before all ages (before time was created) and who saved the people who want to follow His ways, and the Holy Spirit, who descends into the world through grace, thus sanctifying us in our road to salvation. In order to accept all this, one must approach with deep humility, with piety, because this is the most profound dogma of the Christian Church. A dogma recognised by billions of people who lived and died since the first century until the 21st century, in our times. Our calendars are filled with Saints, either Martyrs, Hierarchs, Venerables, Emperors, and so on, who all declared their unconditional faith to the same suite of truths of faith; I said truths, because they, as well as we, take them into account as being real, without any need for further enquiry, because our logic and reason, even if they dont see the end of the rope, of the road, acknowledge them as good, true, real, worthy of being believed. Im Romanian; my people has been Christian since their dawn, sometime between 274 AD and 1100-1200 AD. Since then, the bulk of the people, which, in time, has grown to around 20 million, never abhored nor gave up their faith, because they believed, for centuries, that this is the best way to go on in life. This has been verified in time, in centuries and millennia. Billions of Saints, billions of normal people, like you and me, accepted the dogma of the Holy Trinity, the core of Christianity, as a reality. They didnt say that this idea is a concept, but a reality; they didnt say that this idea is Neoplatonic or pertaining to any human system of reason, logic or thought, because they could feel it that it doesnt. How? They just felt it. Through faith, through a human faculty of the soul, of the mind, of the body, which is somewhat related to intuition, a faculty which binds us together and tells us that yes, there is a God up there who is just as personal as we are, if not even more, and that He loves us more than anything, more than our parents do, and than He even - madness for the world - died for us in terrible torments, to save us from the tyrrany of the devil, who didnt create us, but has stolen us from our real creator. Billions of people believed this is real, true, and not Neoplatonic, and yet, here you come, one single man, saying that this is Neoplatonic, and that you cant believe it because it is Neoplatonic. Let me tell you something. Neoplatonism died until 1500 AD. Until 1500 AD there wasnt any Neoplatonic left. The idea of a Holy Trinity is older than that. The Holy Trinity is attested from at least the times of Moses (1391 - 1271 BC), with no connection with the Hellenistic philosophy. For a thousand years, the Holy Trinity didnt develop in Greek or Hellenistic environment. And when it did, the idea was robed in terms of the Greek philosophy, such as ousia, hypostasis, and so on, for us to understand exactly what is were talking about. And from this point, unfortunately, a variety of doctrines broke out, eventually creating all the denominations we know today. Misunderstandings on the philosophical terms brought Arianism, Macedonianism, Nestorianism, Monophysitism, Iconoclasm and the other heresies in the world. Neoplatonism also had its role in all this, because it was the last living Pagan philosophical current. But they ended until 1500 AD, at least in the Christian world! After that, a single way of thought remained master in Europe, and that was Christianity - Europa Christiana. So how is it that you (like someone who stand in the middle of the road to God and you block it) dont acknowledge as real something that billions of people until you have known it is real? How do you acknowledge something as Neoplatonic, when Neoplatonism is long time dead? How is that something believed in time by billions, has come only now to be a heresy? Was the whole world in heresy for 2000 years? And suddenly, youre the person who simply can understand that which cannot be understood? Youre the homo novus, the Ubermensch?...
