Singapore gave me the idea that Its a country where local Singaporeans are working hard at the bottom level of the industrial chain to serve foreign expat bosses or Chinese/Indian/European brains and talent on the top. Local Singaporeans earn money and pay taxes but majority of them cant even afford to buy private housing without having to resort to government alloted HDB flats that comes with a lot of regulations, criteria and strict qualifications. Local Singaporeans are trained in the national services to provide protection to foreigners residing in their island, earning their money, consuming their resources, and these people despite consume more average resources than an average Singaporean, does not need to serve in the national service. Singapore has one of the higest emigration rate in the world, which means local original Singaporens are leaving their country to migrate to oversea. In terms of ratio, their emigration rate is much higher than Malaysia. I thought its a model country that every country should look up to? Of course singapore is very strong. It is strong because it keeps bringing and flooding itself with the best brain and talent from every part of the world. Unfortunately this is done at the expense of average Singaporeans. They cant complaint about their frustration. They get jailed under ISA or if they blog about their anger, they get sued until bankrupt. They cant use economy, policy as a Defence or to vent. Their foreigner saturated and foreigner driven economy is very good and perhaps is the best in the world. What can they do? They can enjoy the pride their country give them, calling themselve proud Singaporens, while at the same time saving money on whether to migrate to Perth, Melbourne, Wellington, london or canada.
