Single girl survival guide: Entry #1 Below is the estimate from a nationally owned chain (Midas), and the final charges of the privately owned mechanic shop, Master Tech Auto repair located on North Broadway in Lexington. Luckily for me, I photographed all the stuff that the mechanic told me was wrong with my car as he pointed it all out to me. When I showed the pics to one of my awesome patients, who use to be a mechanic, he informed me that I was being taken for a ride (with no vaseline), to put it mildly. Apparently the scumbag at Midas thought as long as he pointed at random stuff this mechanically challenged chic couldnt even identify, he had me on the hook for almost $1700 (notice the $584 in repairs he said could wait another month). A special Thank you to Mechanic Tech for their honesty and great work. Midas was trying to give me stuff I didnt need (Master cylinder) at more than double the labor cost. Always take pics and get second opinions, Ladies.
