Sir, It has come to my notice that we, the hard pressed tax - TopicsExpress

Sir, It has come to my notice that we, the hard pressed tax payers of this country are funding, through our local authorities, green areas in out towns and cities called parks. These areas typically have a lot of grass, a few flower beds, a couple of trees and lots of dogs, old people and children. On Saturdays I believe teenagers can kick a ball about! These cost us millions of pounds, and for no gain whatsoever. I mean the people in them are undertaking no worthwhile economic activity at all - they are neither producing nor consuming. Not only that but the time they spend in the park could at the weekend be spent buying lots of meaningless tat in a local shopping centre thus improving the economy. They are dangerous places, too, as old people can fall and injure themselves and young people can indulge in all manner of anti-social skullduggery. And yet we persist in spending money on lawns, trees and flower beds and other such left-wing and hippy inspired nonsense. I urge you to make it a priority to close all public parks as soon as possible and convert them into areas of economic activity such as shopping centres or car parks as quickly as you can hire a bulldozer; they would then cease to be a drain on the public purse and would contribute to the financial well being of us all. Yours etc.
