Sister Weekend Update: Spent some time with her today - day #6 at UM Hospital. She has a real awesome team of doctors working hard, but she remains an International Woman of Medical Mystery, even after having many tests and procedures. She is waiting to have an angiogram on her brain. Testing so far has confirmed there are no clots but she has developed more lesions on her brain. Her lupus test counts continue to go up, despite having multiple doses of steroids and she is still having terrible head aches. Despite it all, she is in good spirits and enjoying all the excitement of March Madness (cant believe that is a good thing for patients on a cardiac floor)! We are hoping for more answers early next week, but in the meantime, she will remain at one of the most amazing places of medicine on Earth (yes, a Spartan just said that).
