Sisters....what would I do without them? Here is a story about love. As most of you know, our mother passed away in May. What many of you dont know is that several of us, myself included, have felt that we have had communication with her. Kathy talks to her all the time and she receives information from Mom about how she wants her belongings distributed. Kathy doesnt always agree but she tries to honor moms posthumous wishes. Last weekend Kathy bought a lovely silver spoon ring from Nancy Harrington; actually, she bought two. The first featured Lily of the Valley flowers, the second had a pineapple motif. Kathy thought she had two gorgeous rings, then she heard moms voice in her head Jeannie loves lily of the valley. I got an email this morning: do you like lily of the valley? I ADORE lily of the valley. That was all until this evening when I got a text from Kathy, could I meet her somewhere after work? We met at the Kroger parking lot. She gave me several things from mom that I had given her over the years and then she pulls out this gorgeous silver ring with lilies of the valley and gives it to me and tells me her story. She did not want to give it up but mom persuaded her (I wont go into the details) and being the loving sister that she is, I dont think it was too difficult. Plus, she still does what mom says! LOL! I was immediately entranced with the ring, even though it was so big on my stubbly little fingers that I have to wear it on my middle finger and I had to make it smaller to do that! I was sitting on the tailgate of the car with Kathy, looking at all of the details when I noticed something that Kathy had not seen. Most people dont know that my first name is Carolyn and there, engraved on the inside of the ring, was....Carolyn. Thank you Kathy...and thank you Mom.
