Sitting at the Civil War monument across from my house with Annie and her three friends. It is a very pleasant cool evening, almost chilly, though it is mid August. (Yes Kid Natural man made climate change exists). The cicadas are singing. Two of the girls are cheering and two climbing on the monument and the cannons surrounding it. It is dusk but they are still having fun. Now hide and seek as it gets dark. It is so much better than tv or computers ( as I sit here and post). But I am pleasantly listening to the cacophony and they are having great fun. Dark and fun and nothing electronic. Kind of like old times. Just heard "ready or not, here I come"
