Sitting here and was reflecting back in 2003, to when dad ( Garfield) had his massive brain bleed. He had a stroke from it and fell out, unresponsive. He was rushed to Jackson County Hospital ER where he was evaluated. When I got there, the ER Physician pulled us to the side as a family and explained what they had found and that there wasnt anything that could be done. They had him on life support but his brain was bleeding inside. I went on ahead and decided, because of dads wonderful health history, I wanted to get a second opinion. The physician wasnt too happy about my request and took me to dads side again showing me his deteriorating shape but they agreed to fly him to Huntsville. We arrived in Huntsville Hospital where the Neurologist and Neuro Surgeon that had took care of me years before, took a look at Dad and agreed to make an attempt with no guarantees. They went inside his brain and injected glue in the vessels sealing them. Dad remained in a coma for weeks as we (family) prayed for Gods intervention. Well one day while waiting, a nurse rushed to me in the waiting room and requested that I come with her. We went to dads side where he was wide awake. The nurse said he woke up and his first words were The Mercy of the Lord Endureth Forever He then wanted to know where he was and why. I thank God for giving dad more time. I thank God for giving us more time with dad.
