Sitting here in Vancouver, BC with epic thoughts of Canadian pop - TopicsExpress

Sitting here in Vancouver, BC with epic thoughts of Canadian pop and rock music from my misspent 80s youth. Hit a few record stores, including Neptoons (amazing shop), Zulu and Red Cat. In a fit of nostalgia, picked up stuff by Martha + The Muffins (where Daniel Lanois, Mike Howlett, and The Brecker Brothers collided in a new wave-meets-punk-meets-funk-meets-jazz-meets-Stockhausen universe), Strange Advance (yes, Allan Holdsworth played with them), Crash Vegas (featuring Jocelyne Lanois), Red Rider, Shuffle Demons, and Kim Mitchell. You know, this country produced a lot of great, timeless music. A lot of it holds up. Ill leave you with the M+M classic Echo Beach (produced by Mike Howlett) for now...
