Sitting here on this dark starry night, listening to the peace of this quiet small town tonight, no gunshots blaring off into the night, no sirens blazing to their next crime scene tonight, the howl of a coyote can be heard through the wind the only sound within is a tractor trailer racing across the railroad track probably racing home to his wife and his trailer slowly turns down that dark dirt road, he sees the porch light beckoning him home, his wife leaves the light on each and every night before she tucks the kids in bed each night. His truck pulls into the drive the rumbling of the engine can be felt inside, he slowly turns the key to turn the engine off and welcomes a good night sleep. The man slowly opens the door to his peaceful home, checks on his kids because he is always far from home, he kisses them all on the cheek and stares at them while trying not to weep, as he closes the last door to where he watches his daughter sleep he says a silent prayer before he slips down the hall. The trucker slowly crawls into bed pats his wife on the head, kisses Her on the cheek and says I love u baby before he slowly drifts off to sleep. A hard working man with over calloused hands he wonders when the hard work will end, when will he be able to sit home alone and enjoy the rumbling of the kids playing in the yard as he tries to sleep, when will he be able to hold his wife tight through the night and show her his love every moment and second of the day, the trucker cries in his sleep not knowing that he weeps, to be with his family is his dream not to work 100 plus hrs a week sleeping in dirty hotel rooms and wondering what he will eat. These are the things that some families take for granted but if ur life is like this trucker then u know never to take the small things for granted because money cant buy happiness, love or family so please share this story I write tonight and may you all have a safe holiday and be with the family u love and adore for u never know when god will be knocking on ur door to take u home so share all the greatest moments, treasure them, love like u have never loved before, show ur husband, wife, children, moms, dads,sisters, brothers,boyfriends, girlfriends just how much they mean to ur life appreciate the small things u have in this life. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!! May god bless u all with family and friends to share the day with this holiday cherish it never take ur family and friends for granted
