Sitting in bed, making sure everything is in place for this weekends 5th annual Mr and Miss Duke City Pageant...I cant help but get a little emotional. I started this pageant 5 years ago in hopes I would have a few entertainers interested in a fun, glam contest. Never would I have thought wed be one of the most prestigious pageants in Albuquerque, with the largest contestant turnout every year! Id be amiss to say I do this alone. Id like to thank the SOCH for always going above and beyond to support me, Effex nightclub for always willing to sponsor no matter what, Lucinda Holliday for making Madeforaqueen our official jeweler, all of my hosts past and present, Albuquerque Pride for always sponsoring, my husband William S. Eriks for putting up with my craziness once a year, my title holders Roxy Williams, Jesse Lopez, Michael Maldonado, Jade Taylor Stratton, Angel T. Stratton, Martinique Toya-Bouvier, and GVanni T. Stratton for upholding the value and meaning behind the Duke City Pageant, and finally every contestant that has ever been a part of this pageant. You all have made this pageant what it is today.
