Sitting in the apartment drinking some Guatemalan coffee from Antigua thinking about the week. God has been good to me, the ICO Guatemala team, and to Hogar de Vida. The orphanage and everyone who lives there have been huge blessings in my life. Ive been strengthened, challenged, and encouraged through this last week and the weeks in years past. If you see me around and ask me about the trip, my response will not be able to do it justice. I have a relationship with every kid in the home and with most of the staff. Its hard to leave that place. Its so beautiful and full of Gods love and grace. The week was spiritually refreshing and clarifying while being physically demanding. Apparently I cant run up a mountain in three minutes. Who knew? In short, it was awesome. God is at work in Guatemala and with the Home. Being in a leadership position was incredibly humbling. Mainly because I often found myself not knowing what to do or how things were going to work. But God used that to glorify Himself. He led the trip and had everything planned out beforehand. Awesome to witness His sovereignty and how in control He really is. Hard to capture a week like that in a couple paragraphs. So, if you wish to ask about the trip, dont ask how was the trip? I cant answer that question succinctly and articulately. Instead, ask me what I learned or what the highlight was or how it was different from years past. If you want a good answer, present a less open ended question, and Ill do my best to not ramble (I will most definitely ramble).
