Six including minor boy injured in Langthabal blast (UPDATE) MU NEWS/IMPHAL, July 12 : At least six persons including a minor and a woman got injured when suspected militant exploded a powerful bomb at Langthabal Kunja along the National Highway 2, in Imphal west. The incident took place this morning around 9:30 am. The bomb suspected to be IED was planted on top of a banyan tree grown along the roadside. All the injured victims were taken to nearby hospital for treatment. All the injured victims were taken to nearby hospital for treatment and four persons is said to be in critical conditions. The six injured persons including the minor were reported came in a public Auto passenger service from Imphal via Lilong and hit by the splitters of the blast including the driver. The passenger Auto also severely damage by the impact of the blast. The injured minor is identified as one Thongam Premchand, 6 years old. The driver of the Auto is identified as one Md. Aladdin Khan and the injured woman is identified as one M. Rabina (30). Meanwhile, the other three injured civilian were identified as Thongam Liebakmacha (62), Asum Bijoy singh (90) and Jawal Rahman(20). It is also reported that the blast took place sometime after Chief Minister of Manipur O. Ibobi along with his security vehicles passes the area from Imphal toward his home constituency Thoubal. Police and security personnel rushed in to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, Manipur Police personnel conducted search in the area and arrested seven persons for further verification. However, no organizations and individual has claimed responsibility for the blast and police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the blast.
