Sixth batch of 1475 Amarnath pilgrims leave from Jammu : Jammu, July 2: The sixth batch of 1,475 pilgrims today left for the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath from the Yatri Niwas base camp here. “As many as 1,475 pilgrims comprising 1,074 males, 231 females, 21 children and 149 sadhu (saints), left this morning for the cave shrine from the Bhagwati Nagar based yatri Niwas,” an official spokesperson here said. He said the yatris left in a convoy of 47 vehicles including 12 Light Motor Vehicles and 35 buses. The first bus left at 0434 hrs with security arrangements.
