Skimming along at 30000+ feet, west-bound above the orange-hued - TopicsExpress

Skimming along at 30000+ feet, west-bound above the orange-hued clouds below, chasing the sun set in the western horizon, it occurred to me that this is an never-ending, ever-changing tapestry, continuously re-painted by our Heavenly Father throughout the ages. As I reflected, I was even more moved to realize that this astounding sight went unseen, and thus unappreciated, for the better part of human history, as we had no means by which to take it in prior to the technology of manned flight. Its as though He did it simply for His own pleasure. Finally I wondered not only of the tens of thousands of other advances that have provided us such never-before known (or seen) glimpses into His ever-present handiwork, but also of the jaded heart of man that would choose to either overtly dismiss such treasures as randomness or, instead, allow such insights to be swept aside by the daily grind of responsibilities and weight of personal judgments, thus missing the obvious opportunity to stop and stare in awe at the work of his Creator. And, if I am honest, I should find little solace in the critique of those who hold to randomness, as my great guilt of neglect demonstrates a subtler, but perhaps equally virulent, form of contempt. I find myself grateful today for my Heavenly Fathers grace and mercy poured out through Jesus, standing in awe of what we have been shown, and stooped in utter wonder at what might yet be revealed.
