Skin Soft by Jorge Lara This is where downtrodden souls come to rest, As you behest, All the lights that come crumbling, Every particle of my being feels Like its tearing itself apart, For every word we sanction, For every consummate soul we Try to reach out to, Nothing mores comes from this, Our live constantly evolving, Though our hearts beckon Our foundation thickens, Our resolve is never ever more evasive, You are to a certain degree Your last remnants of hope, Washing yourself of the guilt That registers on a wider scale, While our minds perpetuate harm, Our faces remain unrecognizable in mirrors, And meanwhile people mistake the staring into the glass as vanity, But we forget just how we see ourselves, Even as we show empathy to others we disregard the shell of a man we use to be, There is no touching, There is only constant reaching out, A reaching out that blackens The brightest spirit, Fully immersed in the fog of light, In the rightful spirals of shame, with no Pulse easily tamed, Our folly comes in trying to work it all Out, For even as we stumble, We will crawl, Our life is a Testament of our will That permeates as it languishes Skin soft never fully sanctioned, Fulfilling our every hearts desire With the whim and fancy Of a fool who does not register On any ones meter, There is a force to reckon with, A fierceness that comes From the debilitating spirit That struggles to hold on.
