SkyView Forecast for Mothers Day, Sunday May 11th: Were expecting some changes s we move into our Mothers Day. Cooler air and some moisture will push its way into the Black Hills, significantly dropping temps and bringing some breezy winds to the region. Most of us will be seeing a rain event, while areas of SW South Dakota will be seeing some rain and some snow as well. Well have a Wind Advisory in effect until 7pm Sunday with breezy NWs between 25-35mph with gusts up around 45-50mph. A Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect for Shannon County until 3pm when well see the moisture start to exit the area. Parts of Shannon County will be expecting about 4-8 of new snowfall between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Keep the umbrella handy to shield mom from the rain! Conditions will begin to improve as we head into the work week. Skies should see more clearing and temperatures will start to bump back into the 50s. We wont see the 60° temps until midweek and later in the week, but the warmer air will be accompanied by some additional moisture. Expect scattered rain showers from Wednesday through the weekend, but the moisture is still very welcome as weve been running a bit of a deficit since April. Meteorologist Darren Leeds
