Slavery is legal in this country. When are we going to change that? When are we going to stop turning a blind eye to the fact that our government enters into contracts with private prisons, in order to sell our people into slavery? When do you think we can deal with the FACT that Fortune 500 Companies are paying prisoners less than 25 cents an hour to do jobs that could be done by non-captive workers at a fair wage? When do we say Hey, why does the United States have the largest prison population in the world? How can we have only 5 percent of the worlds population but 25 percent of the worlds prisoners? Why is our government signing these contracts, promising to keep these prisons full? When do we get our heads out of the sand and stand up, and say no to this?
