~~~Slick travel in spots this morning~~~ Light snow will develop across northern Maine early this morning. The snow will likely change to a brief period of freezing rain in some areas before ending as drizzle by around midday. Widespread snow cover and a few days of below freezing temperatures will cause the ground temperatures to remain colder than the air temperatures. This means that any rain or drizzle could continue to freeze on untreated surfaces for a time even when the air temperatures rise above freezing. Snow accumulation of an or two is expected this morning, mainly From the katahdin region north to the Saint John Valley. Any Accretion is expected to be a trace. Travels are advised to drive slowly and cautiously, allowing plenty of extra time to reach your destination. It will turn much milder this afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 30s across northern Maine to the mid 40s Down East. Tonight will be mild with areas of drizzle and fog along with a few showers. Temperatures will remain nearly steady. A strong cold front crosses the region Monday with a few showers, mainly across northern Maine. Any rain showers will change to snow showers during the morning. Expect temperatures to fall during the day. Much colder Monday night and Tuesday. Highs Tuesday will only range from 10 to 15 across northern Maine to the low to mid 20s Down East.
