Slight Chance of severe weather today for central and southern Plains There is a Slight Risk of severe weather development today in the central and southern Plains. Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into tonight across major portions of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Storm Prediction Center Forecasters said the primary hazard will be large hail with damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible. A cold front will push across the area with a dry line mixing into southwest Nebraska this afternoon. The front will reach the lower Missouri Valley to the southern Plains Thursday morning.
