Slough, Eton and Windsor Observer, August 28th 1909 - Suffocated In A Bath At Maidenhead - The daughter of John Montague, a Corporation employee, living in West-street, Maidenhead, has met her death in a strange manner. The deceased, who was 40 years of age, was subject to fits, and it is presumed that while walking from the scullery to the backyard she was seized with one of these and fell. She was discovered by a painter named Saunders (who was doing some work at the house) prostrate across the threshold of the backdoor, her face partly submerged in a bath of rain water, which stood just outside the scullery door and it is thought that the poor woman was thus suffocated.
