Slow bike-riding, radium-purchasing, unwelcome-leaf-raking, divorce-tricking-husbands and toilet-terrorism beset the police of West Linn & Lake Oswego, Oregon: 11/2 11:41 a.m. Two men were riding bikes slowly near Hidden Springs Road and Wilderness Drive. 11/2/14 10:50 p.m. A customer asked a clerk if he sold radium. When asked what he wanted the radium for, the customer answered, “a project.” Police were called. 11/4/14 8:48 a.m. An employee of a business became suspicious when a woman started showing up at opening and closing hours all month. An officer found the woman was just having coffee, sending emails and dropping her daughter off for dancing class. 11/4/14 10:17 a.m. Suspicion was aroused by a man walking up and down Del Prado. He turned out to be a vote canvasser. 11/6/14 5:39 a.m. A man said a bright porch light was shining through his window. Officers found this was not the case. 11/6/14 3:40 p.m. An unknown man was seen raking leaves. It turned out he was a Good Samaritan who likes raking leaves for elderly neighbors. However, one property owner told the man she did not want him raking leaves in her yard. 11/6/14 7:20 p.m. A 14-year-old called in to complain about being disciplined. 11/7/14 11:02 a.m. A mother wants the police to tell her son to return her car. 11/8/14 5:01 p.m. A lost chicken was located between a dog park and The Stafford Retirement Community. 11/13/14 3:31 p.m. A neighborhood was suddenly beset by two guys running around ringing doorbells. 11/13/14 9:19 p.m. A child is practicing on the piano so loudly that the neighbors next door cannot hear their TV. 11/15/14 7:15 a.m. A woman said her husband tricked her into a divorce and now has stopped paying the bills. 11/15/14 12:38 p.m. Two women got into a verbal brawl at a coffee shop, but their spat did not escalate into fisticuffs. 11/15/14 2:27 p.m. Seven open-house signs were removed from both sides of Kruse Way. This was the beginning of a series of open-house sign removals. 11/19/14 7:44 p.m. In a case of toilet terrorism, four juveniles in a Toyota 4Runner knocked over a porta potty at the junction of Centerwood Street and Indian Creek Drive.
