Small Fragments of Life Small fragments of my life left all around. Placed carelessly on pasts frozen ground. In small unconscious doses memories arise. Some to make me smile, some are a surprise. Items as small a childs unimportant toy. One that brought happiness to a younger boy. A sweet taste of a meal, one I once had. Some fragments can leave me upset even sad. Maybe a lost friend, love, failures I have had. A sight of a bouquet of red roses I wont forget. Reminds me of the most beautiful girl I have ever met. The red roses she so carefully, excitedly carried. On the Sunny day that the two of us were married. sight of the hospital where my first boy was born. Hopeing that somehow I could keep him safe and warm. The same building brought me three other smiling faces. It amazes me the memories brought by so many places. A high school where I learned, who I wanted to be. Recalling my little sister together by the open sea. When I was blessed with driving her to her new home. Or a park bench I slept on feeling lost scared and alone. A car that was my first, i see drive by on the street. Reminded me of how happy I was to be off my feet. A tree where once I sought to put and end to my life. A wrong choice where I decided to do what was right. So many broken fragments that I have left behind. Each one a reminder of what Ive done in this life.
