Smash And Grab Boutari Wine By Robert K. Stephen (CSW) (TORONTO, ON) – I am very puzzled why Xinomavro-grape wines from Greece seem to be oozing into Ontario. At best they are harsh, thin, tannic, and very awkward as sipping wines, and they don’t accomplish much more with food. I draw comparisons with Ontario Rieslings which, more often than not, really should not be in the bottle and sold. I have the same problem with Xinomavro. Greece has much better and to keep exporting Xinomavros is creating a modern Greek wine tragedy. Time and time again I am disappointed by Xinomavro.
