So American Sniper seems to be getting a lot of guff lately. Im just going to say this; as a Veteran, no military movie has hit me this hard since Saving Private Ryan. American Sniper does not glorify war or combat, but instead drives home how much soldiers and sailors and Marines sacrifice in the course of their service to their country. The film is not propaganda. The action scenes are tense and terrifying and should scare any sane person about how ghastly war is. This is juxtaposed against how hard it is to come home and effectively captures how uncomfortable it was, at least for me, to go from a war zone to the local Wal-Mart and how illogical and how scary and how real PTSD is. If you choose to go see this film, please try to see it with an open mind.
