So...Facebook ads. Do any of my more knowledgable mates know anything about what FB does if you simply ignore an ad, versus clicking the never show me this again button? Genuine ads that dont interest me dont bother me, so I just ignore them. However, the blatant scams, usually involving how some sleb REALLY lost weight or removed wrinkles in a way doctors dont want you to know about using a weird trick are effing offensive, so I click the never again button. And yet they show up again and again, using the same pics and messages, but by a different supplier each time. Im wondering if Im actually causing this by reacting to them at all. I cant see why this would make sense in a sane world, but FBs algorithm for most recent stories is so ropey that I wouldnt put it past them to misinterpret this and think that some kind of engagement is better than plain ignoring. Id prefer any real data or articles to evil Facebook, I have no data but I hate Facebook! comments, but what the heck, rant if you want.
