So, Gravity. An odd one. I wasnt nearly as awed by the visuals as I was led to believe I would be (though I acknowledge that Im seeing it small screen and not at the cinema, but still on Blu Ray). But all those people who said that it was all style and no substance? I cant agree. Beautiful, simple storytelling at its raw best. A single narrative expertly woven by not only what is said but what is seen. Expert use of dialogue, visuals, effects, sound and score to craft an epic tale of survival against the odds in the last true frontier. I was sceptical, I didnt bother with seeing it at the cinema, but I was wrong. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Which is even more surprising when you consider it has Clooney in it and I cant usually stand any film hes in (aside from Dusk Til Dawn and, well now, this.) 9.8 out of ten. Cuaron and Cuaron jnr are geniuses.
