So..... Great night with the dogs.... Stephanie cooked a nice pot roast and was cutting it up as Cory was feeding the dogs... Oddly Ollie didnt come in for dinner... Which is really strange as he basically LIVES for food. We found him under the deck guarding his groundhog tartar.... Explains his reluctance to come in for his kibble... Couldnt get him out without risking losing a few fingers (the dog likes him some fresh groundhog..) so we left him. We feed the other two dogs giving Brutus a little fat from the pot roast as a treat. Normally we dont put people food in their dinner but Bru is old and were trying to keep weight on him... We serve ourselves dinner and when we go back into the kitchen for seconds the pot roast is gone. Seems Keba felt left out and helped himself. Later that night as I got home from some side work about 9pm, Ollie was now waiting at the back door to come in, groundhog carcass in his mouth, tail happily wagging..... Not happening asshat... After chasing him around the deck for 10 minutes he managed to slip by me and inside the house through the sliding glass door I stupidly left open. Yes, with the greasy grimy groundhog guts. At this point hes nose into the back corner of his crate guarding his furry treasure. So I get the grabber, hook it into his collar and pull him back out on the deck again. All the while hes making groundhog muffled protests that I can only imagine equate to doggie curses. After several minutes of unsuccessful negotiations I was forced to perform a string up maneuver with his collar until he dropped the remains of the unfortunate rodent on the deck. I then dragged him back inside, crated him up and went back outside to launch said rodent carcass into the woods beyond the fence line. Brutus remained unimpressed with the entire nights events.... Keba gave 2 paws up to Stefs pot roast. Dogs....
