So How did Our Group Really Win the War Mommies and Daddies? Round One: Very naturally our side responded to the distress calls from the endless victims of the Evil Overlord who dominated that other country and we rescued them , freed them from slavery and persecution, got rid of the Dictator and reestablished liberty throughout their land before returning to our country to celebrate our traditions of brotherhood. friendliness. cooperation love God free enterprise and family and peace. (Come on, Mommies and Daddies tell the whole truth!) Round Two: Okay, our side was not wholly noble or pure or honest in our intentions and there were a handful of bad eggs in our government who went against orders and exploited both us and them for selfish and cruel purposes, but basically we were good guys, and pure hearted and noble if a bit too trusting or the brightest bulbs around and right was essentially always on our side before and after this conflict. And yes, things have of course gotten much better since! (Come on, Mommies and Daddies, please tell us the whole truth??) Round Three: Well, many of us were pragmatists and figured that since our economy was totally stuck in a rut we would stir up mass production and spending by kind of provoking a perhaps not entirely necessary war defending a group of people we did not entirely identify with or care about However our statistics show that the people we rescued did in facto do much better according to our statistical indices in terms of before and after. (Please Mommies and Daddies , please tell us the whole truth!) Round Four: Well to tell the truth, most of us officers and decision makers close to the top did not feel very much identication with the ground troops we sent in to fight this battle or of course with the foreign people we liberated So to speak. Hell, only one out of a hundred of us could say two sentences in their native language! What did you expect? However, since a lot of us had gotten pretty damned feisty and big hearted and stir crazy due to our own backgrounds- and who ever thinks THIS stuff through-- we decided to run a few zany and wild and fun and plain old crazy modern military and ideologiocal crusades against the foe, plus the Evil Dictators we had in fact set up ten years before (and who remembers that one heh heh?) and if if big numbers of our side AND their side was killed or injured or whatever, then who cares? Think of it as a big wild orgiastic party and then at the end: prizes !!! (Please Mommies and Daddies , tell us the whole truth for a change?) Actually more than 99 percent of us officers and the troops too and the foes were technically psychotic. so filled with livid and unjustified murderous and suicidal rage against an invisible enemy and revenge plotting and demonic hatred augmented by constant drills and excercises and bombardments with propagandas that we almost had to find some foe or target that we had no empathy with and annihilate it completly no matter what was true or false or real or good. Of course not being, very sorry a wholly angelic bunch of people. we reversed the actual guilt in such matters and put the 1 percent of the population that was actually pretty normal , sensitive intellectual and nice and ordinarily non violent personnel in detention centers, selected prisons and of course the usual run of psychiatric wards of all descriptions and income levels... This was not an altogether nice deed. of course and your questions are beginning to make us feel kind of bad about our real role in such matters which is so easy to deny or lie about when one apparently has a herd of ardent supporters willing to die or lose a limb for the Great Majoritarian Causes of the Decades...And is that not totally MORAL AND NORMAL AND UNCHANGEABLE HUMAN BEHAVIORS WE ALWAYS DID AND ALWAYS WILL AS EVERYbODY KNOWS!! (Thank you Mommies and Daddies for your final attempts at a full and honest personal and social accounting) WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH US?? YOU BULLIES! YOU HAVE US AT YOUR COMPLETE MERCY, HELPLESS!!! (We are going to give you some art and poetry therapy!) NOOOOO!!! (Okay. Or at least a kiss kiss. Take a stress pill if you chose to do so.
