So I am driving the kids to school this morning and the sun is shining through many trees of green, red, orange, and gold. It is the most beautiful thing. I am so blessed to have an amazing drive each morning down the old historic highway to Corbett, rain or shine, it is beautiful. This morning in particular, as I am driving home after dropping them off- I experienced an overwhelming awe as I was driving through those trees. The ground is covered in blankets of gold leaves and the sun is lighting up the trees in a way I can not describe. God did this. He painted the trees in so many beautiful colors. I think about the beauty and then think about myself and my life, and although I struggle with self doubt and thoughts of inadequacy, God gently spoke to me in my car that he is painting a masterpiece. So then, as I arrive into Gresham with more cars, buildings, and less trees- this song comes on the radio, the sky opens up and it begins pouring. Pouring water- washing over me in my car. Tears are streaming down my face and I realize he is right there with me, so close I can reach out and touch him. Hes there in the rain, the colors of every fallen leaf, the sun shining through the trees, and in the dark moments and happy ones. He is right there and all you have to do is reach out and touch him.
