So, I caught up on some of the recent, Hollywood block-busters this past weekend. A lot of really bad movies out there... Captain America: The Winter Soldier (no plot, ignored traditional Marvel canon, bad writing/acting)---sorry, Cap., no bravo-zulus here. Rating: 2/5 stars: * * . . . (try harder!) X-Men: Days of Future Past (forgiving the fact that they stole the title from the classic Moody Blues album, it still sucked. They totally ignored the canon, again... sigh---Logan never had bony claws! Never!----all the adamantium (including the claws) was installed by the Gamma Flight project in Canada; Logans only mutant power is superior regeneration, an attribute the Alpha Flight program played on...). Rating: 1/5 stars (only cause Scarlett Johanssen is an effective motivator: * . . . . (really? start over!) Neighbors (awful, derogatory, obligatory. directionless. senseless, I weep for Seth Rogan). Rating: 0/5: . . . . . (no redeeming value) Amazing Spider-Man 2 (okay, still bad writing & acting, cool web-slinging action, though!). ***best film Ive seen this week, and thats not saying a whole lot (still, it was pretty cool from time to time...). Rating: 3/5 stars: * * * . . (a fun romp) Space Station 76 (ugh. really? this was like a reality show without any shred of reality.... just makes me feel sorry for Liv Tyler. No plot, no script, very little talent, more pauses than a Pinter play... (Ms. Tylers fumbling through the mis-cues and other inadequacies of her co-stars, and I dont think the editing room was sober at all...). Rating: 0/5 stars: . . . . . (no redeeming value.... alas, even beautiful and talented Lyv Tyler is lackluster and poorly presented....) Will someone please suggest something worth watching?
