So I did a test ... I skipped my beta blocker yesterday - TopicsExpress

So I did a test ... I skipped my beta blocker yesterday altogether. Took it at noon today. So that was about 36 hours from last dose. Im going to keep the 36-hour pace this week and then try 48 hours next week. The half life on this med is only 10 hours, so Im kind of confused as to why I just cant cold turkey it. But I have read not to do that. And, YES, I know I should be consulting a doctor about this, I tried to last week, but he really acted like he just wanted me to switch to cheaper meds. I dont want to do that. I want OFF THIS SHIT. I have a feeling that the Xanax is what led to my high blood pressure and major anxiety attacks. Because I never thought I needed it every day. Problems would happen if Id skip a day. But before I recognized that pattern, Id already been started on Propranolol. Anyway, Im allotted 3 Xanax per day (0.5mg per pill). I take between 1.5 and 2 of them per day. Once I get down to 1/2 per day for a few days, then Ill quit them and save whats left for PRN anxiety. Im filling one more months worth, too, just in case. Like I mentioned before, Im OFF Wellbutrin, Im OFF Seroquel (though Im keeping it on hand for acute purposes or sleep issues... stuff works great as a sleep aid!), and Im OFF Melatonin (at least for now... I put myself on that, and I will likely continue it PRN). Ive cut my Mobic dose in half (just to have it longer, really; that stuff is great, but it sucks that Im not supposed to take other anti-inflammatories on top of it, because Ive ALWAYS got ibuprofen... and yes, I still take it when I need it!). Im filling one more month of Mobic as well, but will probably use PRN, like every damn thing else. So... Ive done well so far with the tapering. Feeling good about this. I cant wait to see what Im like when I have all of this junk out of my system. Funny how sometimes the steps we take to better ourselves actually hurt us. Im pretty sure I dont need any of the crap Im on!!!!! Im taking Kratom now for my chronic pain, and it has eliminated my blood pressure and major anxiety issues as well... not to mention my IBS symtoms are NON-EXISTENT with regular dosing of kratom. The media is trying to give Kratom a bad name; theyre WRONG.
