So I did as planned, in our stairstep to wean Austin off benzos, - TopicsExpress

So I did as planned, in our stairstep to wean Austin off benzos, and last night he only got 30mg of Onfi. So for the next week, possibly 2, Austin will take 10mg of Onfi in the morning, 8a to be exact (along with his 1200mg of Banzel) and 30mg of Onfi in the evening, 8p (along with 1200mg of Banzel). That reduces his morning benzo dose by HALF and his evening by 25%. (Austin primarily seizes when he sleeps, so nighttime dosages have been higher and will take longer to wean down.) I also adjusted the THCA drop dosage to 2.5mg as his nighttime dose (which was nice because I didnt have to wake up for a 3am microdose). Its almost 6a and Austin has not had ANY seizures. This would mirror his first night, so I certainly plan on continuing this dosage as we wean him down on Onfi over the next few weeks and add the CBD oil. It was awesome. Another night of solid sleep (for both of us) and only 3 seizures in the last almost 60 hours. Something also VERY important to note in our world is that it is not just HOW MANY seizures Austin was having, but the intensity of them, the ferociousness that would sometimes have Austin screaming in terror, running into walls, hitting the floor with such force that he would fracture a bone in his foot, contorting his body in a locked position for 3,4,5 minutes. And he would stop breathing. Every time. The 3 seizures he has had so far - all have lasted 45 seconds or less and he has NOT quit breathing during the seizure, no respiratory distress at all. He isnt contorted, no terror seizures, just a textbook 45 second grand mal seizure with quick recovery. His speech yesterday and mannerisms were definitely more norm for Austin, but I fully expect this with benzo weaning. Its the glimpse of the good stuff and his stability that lets me know we are headed in the right direction!
