So I figured there were enough posts on FB about Robin Williams - TopicsExpress

So I figured there were enough posts on FB about Robin Williams tonight that I would bow out of being one more person to post about it, but Ive seen several posts tonight that I feel were down right disrespectful and I feel the need to say something. The fact of the matter is that I am literally appalled to the point that I feel the need to comment, so here it goes. First of all, Ive seen plenty of obituaries over the years of people I didnt like. Im not even talking about celebrities here... Im talking about people I knew in real life that I just didnt care a thing for. That said, I can earnestly say that regardless of my personal feelings, Ive NEVER taken joy in anyones death, nor have I thought it funny/sensible/or timely to make jokes about anyones death, PERIOD. Honestly, I cant even fathom what it would be like to be the mother/father/sister/brother/ or loved one of someone who died, only to have to see or hear posts or comments of made by others who were making light or poking fun at their death. Truth be told, its absolutely unsettling to me that anyone would do this. I say all of this only to make the point that you dont have to give a single sh!t in the world about someone to show a little respect for the fact that they have left this earth and will never be coming back. Common human decency and respect are simple concepts to grasp. Give it a try... I promise they take a lot less energy than ridicule or hate, and youll probably sleep better at night. And thats all I have to say about that...
