So I finally got to watch the episode of #RealTimeWithBillMaher, where Ben Affleck criticizes the Host views about Muslims and these are my thoughts. Maher and Harris started the argument with the wrong foot by assuming that the Liberal ideology is the only right way in the modern world. However, what they did not took in account is that they´re judging the easterners with a westerner sight, which makes really difficult to be sympathetic with the Islam beliefs, due to the fact that our societies are based on an individual rights culture, whereas the Muslim world is based on a family principle , where the family is the most important shackle of society. Despite the difference of opinions and putting aside my personal beliefs about religion, I find Maher´s arguments really unconstructive and fueling a climate of hating towards a folk that has been victim of the worst kind of Media and in which whom majority just want to be able to practice and continue their traditions in peace and not being all cataloged as crazy fanatics or being discriminated by believing in God. Just on more thing world, not all muslims belong to ISIS or an extremist group so I think it´s time to embrace that inclusion speech we´re all so proud of.
