So, I get emails. I got one the other day, from a theory-oriented lit student doing some cognitive-theoretical-feminist thingie on Henry James and Virginia Woolf. The diss title was three lines long. Wanted to chat about her project going forward, perhaps find a new program to get her Phd... found my vita via Google. Well, shocking I know, but I didnt respond. So, today--FIVE days later, let me add--I get a follow up email, acknowledging how busy I must be, but wanting to talk, and asking if perhaps *a phone call* is the best way to discuss her and my research and the Purdue program. Now, I normally am generous in talking to prospective students... but this seems really odd somehow. Thoughts?
